Looking forward to forever

KP and I celebrated our 12th anniversary but really our 3rd "real" anniversary on the 29th. We celebrate our anniversary every year either on the 28th or the 1st, but we get really excited about our true anniversaries and usually plan something extra special for those. This year however we were not quite sure how to plan around some things we are waiting to have happen. So we decided to play it safe and not plan any trips away, because you can't plan everything in your life and when you want whatever it is to happen right?  KP had originally been scheduled to work a day shift on that day and with him working a 12 hour shift and it being our 12th anniversary, I put a plan into place.

I planned 12 gifts for him to open up throughout the day on the 12th minute of every hour. I wrote a message for each gift- a memory from some anniversary in the past, our inside jokes, and things that I love about him and then I matched a gift that went along with each one. So needless to say, he got some pretty funny and interesting things! :) But during the month, his schedule got switched up and he actually had the day off which was a present in and of itself to me. So it made it even better that I got to be there when he opened up each and every gift!
He said his gift wasn't as clever as mine, but it wasn't the least bit disappointing. He gave me a wonderful arrangement of "12" roses and daisies which are my favorite! Then he also took me out that night to a Japanese steakhouse for a little Hibachi cooking and the food was delicious! So you don't have to go on a fancy trip to make it extra special.  Just getting to spend a whole day with the one you love the most makes it grand!
