Going to the Newport Aquarium

We took a day trip to Newport Aquarium and also took a "Ride the ducks" tour. Here is a video of the girls trying to catch jelly fishes. The other pictures are down below in a slide show. We had a pretty good day. The girls really liked the tour and getting to quack with their quackers. The other video is the beginning of the tour after the "splash down" of the ride. We did get wet, but I didn't expect to, so the camera lense is a little watery.

Kids 1 mile Fun Run

The kids wanted to do the Fourth of July fun run again. I was worried that they might hold it on a Sunday this year, but we got lucky and they held it on July 3rd. The girls were just sure they were going to win this year! The organizers of the race started something new this year. They lit off a pop bottle rocket at the start of the race and everyone started running when it went "pop". The kids thought it was a cool idea. Here is the start of the race.

I wasn't wearing running shoes, but "C" insisted that I hold her hand during the entire race. So I got a workout too. At least I was sporting a red.white, and blue ensemble.

Here are the girls running the race. They did a pretty good job for not doing any training beforehand. "B" actually came in 4th place. "A's" ego was little hurt as she came in 10th place, because she had her heart set on winning. So I guess we will do some training before the next race. "C" ran/walked the whole thing holding my hand. Maybe she was planning on me dragging her? The girls got medals for finishing the race and T-shirts to wear. They were also given bagels, fruit, cookies, drinks at the end of the race. And it was all free which makes it so worth it. The girls have a favorite suspension bridge that they like to cross whenever we go to the Ellis Park in Danville(which is where the run was held at).
