Preschool Fieldtrip

Our preschool group went on a fieldtrip to the "Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum" . I love the face of the front desk person- ho hum, a bunch of kids.

There was a race car that the kids could get in and pretend to drive. We even had teams for some of them- giving them gas and changing tires. The kids had fun.

Here is a car that we found with our last name on it. And in the background is the only pink car in the whole museum.

A tribute to my Dad

When I was growing up my dad would make us pancakes on Saturday's. Not every Saturday of course, but when he did it was a special treat. My dad passed away almost 8 years ago and his birthday was January 9th. So this year January 9th falls on a Saturday and every one of my siblings (there is 9 of us) made pancakes for breakfast today. Here are my girls enjoying some this morning.

It is too bad that my girls never really got to know him. He died when "A" was one and when I was pregnant with "B". He was a dedicated family man who taught me how to fish, how to change a tire, showed me how to get through geometry, showed me how to work hard and be happy with what you have, and so many other things. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and served God with all of his heart, might, and mind in the many numerous callings he held over the years. I know his example has helped my foundation of the gospel to be strong.

I know he is working hard up in heaven, and I am so glad for my testimony of families being together forever!

Happy New Year

I have loved doing puzzles since I was a little girl. I remember growing up and having a puzzle out on our dining room table, and I would work on them for days after school and on weekends until they were finished. I know I am a little boring, but I have made peace with myself about it. Well, the only time I get to sit down and do a puzzle anymore is if I have a lot of time to do nothing-which doesn't come around hardly ever anymore. So I decided I would bring out a puzzle on New Year's Eve and have the family work on it with me. The goal was to have it done by midnight. The girls were pretty excited when we started it, but an hour into it, they moved on to playing the Wii and other games. KP also helped and took breaks from doing it now and then. But we started it at 7:00 and finished it with 7 minutes to spare! Then we watched the ball drop at Times Square and the girls popped their 40 balloons at midnight to find the pieces of paper inside to claim their goodies for the New Year. I was surprised that even the youngest stayed up until 12:00! It is always a good time spending the Holidays with my family whom I love so much.

I was excited to finish our puzzle by midnight, so I had to take a picture of the time.

Winter Riding

Today it is about 15 degrees and the girls really
wanted to ride their bikes. It only lasts about
10 minutes and "A" asks for hot Chocolate.
