Introducing the state fair to my sister

This year was the year of the dairy cow.

We visited some animals. And got our pictures in the painted boards.
We thought this was the coolest chicken we have ever seen.
We enjoyed the yummy fair food-but didn't go too crazy, like trying the deep fried girl scout cookies, or the spaghetti ice cream.

Little C wanted to do the "little hands on the farm". The older girls are really too old for this, but they were good sports and went along. Little C was so excited that she had picked out a golden egg. I love her expression.
Sisters- so much fun!!
Even my sister and I joined in the fun of getting pictures in the painted boards around the fair.
We went to a real live bird show. The guy doing it was pretty entertaining.
Brooke was picked out of the whole audience to come up front and help him teach the group the difference between a falcon and a hawk. She was pretty happy.
Little C liked the giant squirrel.
Wen enjoyed some rides as well. The Ferris Wheel, a bumblebee one, and a roller coaster.
Little C really enjoyed her ride when it went up in the air!
The waiting in line wasn't too bad.
It was a great day to enjoy the fair as a girls day out!

Let the luck come our way

Our van turned over some lucky 7's late this summer. We should see our luck change right??

We moved the weekend before school started. Whew- it was a busy start to the school year.
First day of school for the girls. It was really early this year. August 1st!!

Pioneer Day Fun

A friend of ours put together some pioneer day festivities and we participated.  It was pretty fun.

We had a bike parade. First time decorating a bike. We figured the balloons should do the trick.
We played some fun games including 3 legged race.
The girls made edible covered wagons.
Finished covered wagon- ta da!!
