Giving Thanks

We kept the tradition alive with making fruit turkeys again this year.

The food was incredibly good.
And the family and friends made it for a day full of blessings and thanksgiving for all that we have.

First concert

Little C had won free tickets to a Selena Gomez concert. Not bad for a first concert to go to. She thought it was loud, but fun. We went with some of her other friends that also won free tickets.

Even though Selena didn't come on until almost 9:00 we had a good time. Oh, did I mention that this concert was on a school night? Yes, it was a late night for the girls.
Miss B really got into it with the dancing and the waving the phone light. Yeah-she had a good time.

It was a good experience for them. Now they can make informed decisions on if they want to go to other concerts or not. :)

Sometimes school is fun

We went to a PTO sponsored school night at little C's elementary. It was doughnuts and pajamas. They also had a raffle for the kids. Little C put her name on a piece of paper not really expecting much because our family never really wins anything anyway.

One of the events of the night was to duck tape the principal and the assistant principal to the wall. Little C had a good time with that.

She was very proud of herself.

And the best part of the night was that she won 4 tickets to a Selena Gomez concert. She had heard of her, but was more excited that she won something. So she took her sisters and me.

Halloween festivities

This is what the girls dressed up as this year.

B was a black bat.

Little C was a butterfly fairy.
Big A didn't know what to call herself- but it was along the lines of a bat too.
I love this picture. "Ewwww, gross mom! " The guts of the pumpkin are all squishy and slimy.
B had a little bit more fun pulling out her pumpkin guts.
We found some fun stencils to try.
Here are the final glowing pumpkins!
We had some fun Halloween themed food as well.

Fall Break and family time

Girls wanted to go out and do something during Fall break so we went up north to look at a Cow farm. It wasn't as exciting as hoped. Surprise right?

The girls thought it was entertaining and also gross that the cow would clean out his nose with it's tongue.
We went on a little hike.
And we saw these little caterpillars all over the trail.
Big A also convinced us to go on a family trail ride.

Little C's pony was hilarious. It would stop and want to eat all the time. Little C did a good job for being on a horse (pony) for the first time.
B's horse was pretty obedient. No troubles there.
KP's horse had a mind of his own. No one was telling his horse what to do. He danced to a beat of another drummer. It was fun to see the personality's of the horses. And it was a fun time had by all.

She turns twelve

Big A got a horse riding experience for her birthday.

This is the horse she got to have fun with. His name was Ash.
She had a riding lesson and then went on a trail ride.
She had a great time. We had a little family celebration at home afterwards.
Her sewing teacher even got her a sewing basket of her own.

Grandparents come to visit

We had KP's parents come visit us. We obviously need to teach our neighbor how to take a picture, since half our eyes are closed. At least he offered, which was nice.

KP got a saying from a tv show he used to watch that went like this: "If the women don't find you handsome, then at least they should find you handy." I am lucky to have both in my husband. He and his dad did a few projects around the house. His dad redid the finish on our kitchen table. When we first bought it off cragislist, it would leave water marks. I was afraid of ruining the table, so we have kept a table cloth on it ever since. So my father in law fixed that problem for us, by refinishing the top of the table and putting a sealant on it.
The more time consuming project was to put up a back-splash in our kitchen. They did a wonderful job, and it looks so nice.
Getting all those tiles to line up just right and level. Now time to grout!
The finished project. Apparently I need to learn how to take a picture as well, as these are crooked. Oh well.

The girls enjoyed grandma reading to them, and she in turn listened to numerous music practicing of piano and flute.
I was also grateful for her help in keeping the house in order as my part time job turned into a full time job unexpectedly after they let someone go in the company and I had to handle the transition and making sure to tie up loose ends. Luckily, my job has gone back to normal now. We did plan to go to the temple with them, but unfortunately the sessions were full that night. We had never had to call two days before to get a spot. I had some family names to do, so we scheduled for a session the next day. So, in short, the grandparents got a short tour of Louisville, KY.
Also, KP received a new calling at church. He was ordained a High Priest by his dad, and he was set apart as the First Assistant to the High Priest Group Leader.Big A took the following picture-she needs some lessons too in waiting until someone is done talking before you take a picture.

We really enjoyed them while they were in town. So grateful that they could come and spend time with us.

Family Picture Time!

We had a friend take these pictures for us, and we had a fun time getting them taken! There were so many great ones, I just picked a few favorites.
