#3 Turns 4!

"C" wanted a fish themed party, so we decorated with fish on the walls, and fish on our fan, and balloons.

The best time to have her party was at 12:00-2:00, and I debated whether to serve lunch or not. I decided I would. I thought about fish sticks, but very quickly moved on to another idea, because how many kids really like fish? I decided to have fish shaped quesadillas instead, along with blue jello jigglers, and grapes. I tried to keep it simple and all finger foods.

Here is the birthday girl before her party began. Too bad she would not stay this happy through out the party. The family movie night kept her up way past her bedtime the night before, and you could tell the next day. But I couldn't deny her some quality movie time with her family could I?

Of course I made a fish cake for the fish themed party. It was really easy using two circle cake pans. And I am all about easy when it comes to decorating cakes.

This picture cracks me up. My husband was trying to get "C" to smile for the camera, and her friend is showing her how it is done.

"C" has so many little friends her age, it made for a very active party. We played games, but don't have any pictures because my husband and I were involved in most of them- we fed fish (throwing gummy worms into a cup with a fish on it), the kids went fishing for prizes, and played musical fish. I also thought we would give playing " Go Fish" a try, but most of the kids had never played before, and explaining it to lots of kids at one time got everyone confused. So we just matched up the fishes instead. All in all it was a very fun party, and "C" was very happy to have friends join her in celebrating.

10 years go by fast!

Well, 10 years of marriage and two "real" anniversaries later, here we are. When we tell people our marriage date of February 29th, they always joke with KP and tell him it must have been his idea so he wouldn't have to remember as many anniversaries. But no, it was my crazy idea. It is a date that is hard to forget because it is a little out of the ordinary. And we do celebrate our anniversary every year- we just get to pick if we want it on the day before or the day after. And then every 4 years we do something special on our actual anniversary date. This year we spent it in Ohio. We went to Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati (well Covington, KY if you want to get technical). What can we say- we like to drive and enjoyed our time together.
Columbus, OH Temple. Always nice to spend time in the temple.

The Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH was fun to see. I am glad KP doesn't have to fly a helicopter like the one above.

This is the hotel we stayed in for one of the nights we were away. There was a fabulous restaurant on the top that rotated, giving us a great view of Cincinnati.

Here is the Cincinnati skyline the morning we left. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest over the weekend making us want to go somewhere more southern in the years to come!
