Mother's Day

KP stole the girls away a few nights before Mother's Day and they devised several plans for the big day. KP had to work so he made sure the girls took care of me for the day.

KP and Big A planned to make dinner for me. KP wrote some instructions down for "A" to make a pork roast. I caught a picture of her doing some prep work.
Can you find the roast in there? The directions told her to add the red potatoes, carrots and onions. When I peeked in she had put in the whole potatoes, and left the onions whole as well. She had also decided to add apple slices on her own. I laughed to myself. I told her she had done a wonderful job. She then asked if she had done the onions right because they didn't seem right to her. So I told her I usually chop up the onions into pieces to make sure it would cook all the way. So she did and we added seasonings as well.
Dinner was really, really yummy. It always tastes better when you didn't have to prepare and cook it!
In Primary the girls got these flower clips to give to the mom's along with a card that they filled out questions like -My mother is as sweet as... and they filled in the blanks. Sometimes it is advantageous when you have three kids in Primary. Don't they look great?
I was showered with all sorts of little gifts and homemade cards for the day, but my favorite and most hilarious gift was the one I took a picture of below.
They made me a parade float. Ha ha. It still makes me laugh.  See the paper girls? Those are the girls riding the float. They decorated it with hair barrettes and flower clips. It was very creative. I love my sweet girls!!

356 Days

356 days and two realtor signs later, we have sold our house. It had it's ups and downs. And to say the least it was a nail biter all the way to the end. But our house is sold! Hooray!

Ahhh, the joys of packing everything up and cleaning every inch of your house before someone else get's to enjoy it. Here are some of the things we will miss.
Good bye to the largest pantry we have gotten to enjoy. Our food storage will miss the wonderful opportunities for organization. :)
Good bye to our Master Bath skylight. We really like our sun! We will probably put in another one.

Good bye light-blocking blinds in the bedrooms. I really miss you already-the girls stay up so much later now.
Good bye to my mother's day present of 2009. A wonderful red maple tree. I will miss your wonderful vibrant red color in the fall. You were just too big to bring with us.
Good bye to the house that we have stayed in the longest. It was great to live here, but we are grateful to have sold you and move on to our next adventure.
