Signs that summer is on its way!

1st sign- when the temperature gets hot enough to run through the sprinkler- or in our case get hosed off by your little sister.

Second sign that summer is on it's way and that school is almost out- Field Day! "B" got to do the limbo, do a potato sack race, and play games with a parachute. Afterwards they had the families come have a picnic with them. I didn't get any pictures of that- I must have been preoccupied with eating the good food. I didn't get to take any pictures of "A's" field day but it was filled with the same stuff.

Near the end of school they have box car races at the elementary. Here is "B's" class ready to race.

Here is "B" racing. This year's was an ocean theme. She did not win, but was having fun anyways.

Mother's Day

My mother's day started off on Saturday when "K" and the girls drove me to a Garden Nursery to pick out a tree for our front yard. I was so excited to pick out a tree. I have wanted a red maple since we moved in last year. So we picked up an "October Glory" red maple. It should be bright fiery red in the fall. "K" was so nice to plant it the same day. Then yesterday the girls gave me a card that they picked out. It was a card with hamsters on the front and you open it up and it plays a little jig/dance like song. It was pretty funny, and I know why the girls picked this one. They have been saving their allowance money to buy a hamster. Then "K" made the dinner and he made the best steaks ever! I should have him cook all the time. It was a very good mother's day.

Show and Tell

Last week in "A's" class they were reading a story called "Cool jobs" and another book about pilots. Well "A" decided to chime in and tell her teacher that her daddy was a pilot. So her teacher invited him to come and talk to them last Friday. Since he didn't have a helicopter with him to show off he wasn't sure what to talk about. But he talked about how he got into flying and what it took to become a pilot and opened it up to questions afterwards. He had brought some pictures to pass around and headsets for the kids to try on. Then he passed out some pencils and coloring sheets too. He did a great job.

Moving up to a big bed

So long to the big blue teddy bear toddler bed. It has served us well bringing sweet dreams to all three of our girls. But now that "C" is three we decided it was time to get her a big girl bed!

Now she can have sweet dreams in her new big girl bed. Every time I call it her big girl bed she says " I am still a little girl"! And seeing her sleep in it does make her seem small. They grow up fast don't they?
