First snow of the season

The girls were excited when we got enough snow to play in. The snow was perfect for making snowballs and forts too.

Little C had fun throwing snowballs at everyone. I had to convince her to come inside and warm up a few times. She could play in it all day.
Here are my little snow angels! Right in time for Christmas.

Big people Birthdays

KP and I celebrated birthdays this month. We both turned 21 and then some, can you believe it?  Here are a few pictures of the celebrations.

The girls bought their dad a toy. He has used the girls as target practice ever since and they think it is fun to try to dodge the shots.

The girls got me a lunch bag that I can use when I go to work. It has the name Rachael Ray on it-they thought it was close enough. Maybe the name will let me inherit some cooking skills along with it.

Tis the season to be jolly

Our neighborhood puts up lights right after Thanksgiving we found out. We were feeling like the grinches of the street by Dec. 1st when ours still were not up yet. But we finally got some up-complete with the santa helicopter- and now we are excited about Christmas!

Little C had a Holiday Program that we went to watch. It was very well done. She enjoyed participating very much.
You can see little C right above the microphone. It was fun to see them do actions with the songs.
Here is a little clip of it.

Quiet Thanksgiving

The two older girls made cookie turkeys at Activity Days. They were pretty cute.

Allison wanted the day to be festive so she made us place mats and made each of us a card. She fashioned this one after the Macy's Parade. It is a big turkey balloon.
Our cards had stickers that we could wear all day. It was hilarious. My favorite was "I ate a turkey today"

KP had to work on Thanksgiving and I had  made the dinner at his work the last time and didn't want to try it again, so we decided to just have it at home with us girls.

Student Council Duties

Brooke has had several Student Council duties this year. They worked at a Vendor Fair to raise money for a local Animal Shelter.

She has also had the opportunity to put up the flag at school and take it down for several weeks a time.
Waiting in the school lobby until it is time to go out.
It takes all her strength to get the rope off so they can clip the flag on.
Here is a short clip of her putting it on.

Carving pumpkins and Halloween

The girls chose to use patterns to carve their pumpkins this year. They spent a lot of time on them, but they turned out awesome.
Big A really had to dig deep to get all the seeds out.

This was the first time using any kind of pattern. It was interesting and time consuming, but the girls had a good time and the pumpkins turned out good, so it was worth it.
Here the girls are with their pumpkins.
Semi-glowing pumpkins.
We made some Halloween food this year. We kept it pretty simple. Mummy dogs and jack-o-lantern fruit.

We had an Angel, A witch and her black cat this year. And a few friends as well.

Denver Museum

The day that we planned to go to the Denver Mint (where they make the coins) and the Denver museum, little C had gotten sick over night and had to stay home with KP. They told us to go ahead and have some fun without them. It was sad though because we planned this trip to the museum because it has a cool planetarium in it and little C is really into space right now and would have loved it. Here is some pictures of the day.
Allison has the whole world in her hands...

Brooke is trying to dock the space shuttle. It was much harder than it looked.
The Denver skyline behind us.
Brooke found some Big Horn sheep.
Then they wondered what they would look like with antlers...
Then we happened upon some dinosaurs..
Watch out for saber toothed tigers..
We couldn't get pictures inside the Denver Mint (security reasons), but it is a good place to go if you are ever in the Denver area. We actually got to see some gold bars which they store there at the mint.

Fall Break in Colorado

We drove to Colorado for Fall Break. The girls survived the two day trip in the car. They have always been good travelers. We are fortunate to have both KP's parents and my mom within 15 minutes of each other. So we divided our time between them and family that also live close by. We did a lot of things and couldn't put them all on here, but here is a glimpse of what we did.

Little C couldn't get enough of picking the apples off the apple trees at both grandparents houses.

We drove up to Estes Park and looked in (and bought in) the shops there. We couldn't have asked for better weather while we were in Colorado.
The girls had fun on Grandpa's tractor. Big A usually drove, the others enjoyed the ride.
We went to a fun pumpkin patch that my sister recommended in Broomfield.
We are ready to go cut our pumpkins from the vine!!
Little C found her pumpkin first. She didn't take too much time.
Beautiful B took a little longer to find the perfect pumpkin.
And Big A took the longest time looking for "The Great Pumpkin" but she found it! It was so heavy that she almost dropped it when she picked it up.
Goofing off with my brother and sister.
My little pumpkins..
More painting picture fun..
KP was showing off some hill billy looks.
They had some inflatable slides and jump houses there that the girls enjoyed.
Beautiful scenery to take pictures.
The girls enjoyed playing with their cousins.
We have a large family and when we gather round it is always a good time!
