Off to School again..

Wow, this summer went by fast. The girls are off to school again.

They all had to pose for the camera-silly girls. Little C's is just the sweetest. The first day of school the weather was kinda drizzly and grey, probably motivating the kids to want to stay inside a building all day.
Little C was off to school first.
Then the other two about 10 minutes later. Now I have a really quiet house.
The girls all like their teachers and they have made new friends, so we are off to a good start.

End of summer camping

We knew summer was coming to an end and we let the girls go camping in our backyard.

The campout was not complete without the American Girl dolls.
We even had a friend from nature come visit us. A nice praying mantis.

A Week of J.O.Y

This year I had the privilege of helping with the Activity Day Girls Camp again. We had the theme of J.O.Y. which stood for Jesus, Others and You.
The first day they made a washer necklace with the words JOY on it. They turned out pretty good I thought.

We would start with a song, prayer and a thought to start the day. We had a lot of girls and they did so well in respecting those that were speaking in front of them.
They made an FHE lesson that they could take home and teach to their families. We also played some games in between.
We had some scripture themed water games the first day. The girls had fun getting wet.
The next day I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures, but I will tell you what we did. Since the theme for the second day was "Others" the girls learned how to make bread, and then made some bread to be served for Sacrament the next Sunday. We had 17 girls making bread in one kitchen at four different stations. It went amazingly well, and their instructor Sister Bailey, was awesome in instructing them. We then had a young women come and talk about watching younger kids and babysitting. We also played a "Get to know you" bingo game. That is one of the things that I love about this camp is that I see the girls get to know one another better and they really become unified as a group.
The last day was at our house. We had a pajama party theme and I talked about how they could take care of themselves since the last day's theme was about "YOU".
We had one of the counselor's of the Primary come and teach them a dance. Sister Enz was a fantastic instructor and the girls had so much fun. Here is a short clip-we did this down in our basement.
Pictures of the girls learning the dance at the beginning.
We also played some games at the end and we served them breakfast for lunch which I forgot to get pictures of. But I got one of the tables being set. :)
It was a really fun week with really fun girls. It was also fun for two of my girls to be in it. I like to watch them learn and grow in the gospel and have fun with a great group of girls.
